Proven adaptability in India

Chennai and Kolkata, India - June/July 2009: Landing at Chennai and Kolkata airports in India has just become that little bit safer due to the implementation of the TrackJet® rubber removal technology.

TrackJet®: Proven adaptability in IndiaThis ensures that the runways have sufficient friction to prevent aircraft from skidding. The Airports Authority of India (AAI), responsible for 126 airports and committed to achieving the highest safety standards, chose Weigel Hochdrucktechnik to customise their innovative, environmentally friendly high pressure water system to the special conditions in India.

TrackJet®: Proven adaptability in IndiaThis innovative company in Germany has once again proven the versatility of the TrackJet® system by adapting the high pressure water nozzle unit so that it is mounted on the side of the vehicle.

This increases the manoeuvrability of the carrier vehicle whilst not comprising on the efficiency or effectiveness of the cleaning operation.

Officials at the AAI are extremely satisfied with the TrackJet® performance because it is not necessary to close the runway, cleaning occurs between flights, and the whole cleaning operation is executed quickly. The pilots have also praised the system, “the runway feels as good as new” and are more confident at landing during rainy conditions.
