TrackJet® - The World Class Technology for A World Class Maintenance at KLIA
April, 2010: After a very extensive evaluation process the TrackJet® technology has been chosen to remove rubber and paint markings, oil and fuel spillages from runway surfaces at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The Malaysian Airports company has been Green Globe 21 compliant for several years now and was consequently very interested in employing an eco-friendly system, rather than one based on chemicals. Economic benefits resulting from an increased life time of the runway and low operating costs were also important factors in their decision. Due to the efficiency of the TrackJet® technology, safety on the runway is also greatly enhanced.
The Malaysian company Aviatrade had convinced the authorities to deploy TrackJet® systems, for the maintenance of all runways under the control of the Malaysian Airport Company.
KLIA engineers have already received training with the TrackJet® system at the manufacturer’s plant in Germany, and were most impressed by the technological advantage of this Ultra High Water Pressure system and its operator friendliness.
In order to be able to clean the aprons or other areas with difficult access at the airport, this system is especially equipped with an extension satellite rotor for manual driven jetting work. With this option, the working area can be extended by approximately 25 m from the main TrackJet® equipment.
The TrackJet® was successfully commissioned in Malaysia in April. Other countries in the area have already expressed their interest in using this modern technology.
